Tibetan Scripts

Tashi at work artist Tashi Mannox for personally created art work designs for the skin. For more detailed information on the background of Tashi and his work as an established artist, please visit the ABOUT THE ARTIST page. Concerning Tibetan script tattoos, Tashi advises on the use of sacred mantras and their SACRED MEANING and the appropriate placement of Mantras and sacred words on the body. You may find more in-depth information on the various Tibetan scripts, to help answer commonly asked questions, please link from the main navigation or click here for: TIBETAN SCRIPT.

To commission Tashi to create a bespoke calligraphic artwork, which can be sent to you both by email and by mail, please follow the commission process in the HOW TO ORDER page.

The artworks are individually hand painted on high quality watercolour paper, signed and sealed by the artist’s characteristic water tiger seal. This stands in its own right as a collectable art piece with proven provenance. The artwork also provides a clear and precise template that can be transferred to your skin by the tattoo artist of your choice. Depending on where you are based, Tashi can sometimes recommend a professional
tattoo artist that best suits the style of your commissioned design. Tashi will not accept the request to copy another tattoo artist's design; he also will not sell his own design to more than one client. The exclusive design produced is primarily the result of collaboration with you and therefore personal to you only.

If you have any questions, or wish to commission an artwork from Tashi, please go to CONTACT. Please state the nature of the design, such as words to be translated and the particular script style (see SKIN GALLERY) it is also useful to know the intended area of the body to be inked, as this may effect the composition of the design.

Tashi will not provide a general translation service in Tibetan or Sanskrit, unless you wish to commission a particular artwork where a translation is required. For personal Western names in Tibetan phonetics, please first scroll down and read about this in TIBETAN SCRIPT.

There is no doubt that Tibetan script and iconography is steadily growing as an art form in it’s own right in the world of tattoo design. These forms are progressively being developed and warn by Tattoo artists and their clients worldwide. Though to date there is little genuine information easily available on the Internet, especially a reliable source in Tibetan calligraphy.

In response to an ever increasing interest in Tibetan scripts, ancient Sanskrit, Mantras and Tibetan floral designs, this website is dedicated to providing advice and the opportunity to commission the
